Tests that can fail
Every app is tested before it ships. A check that has never failed on a bad result isn’t trusted until it has.
About
Everything Windows and Doors (EWD) was founded by John Stephens, who came out of this exact trade. We build the tools a hurricane impact window and door business runs on, one product at a time, from how the work actually happens.
Every seat, one trade
Thirty-three years ago, at nineteen, one partner’s career began the way most real careers here do: on a ladder, cutting shims, getting a unit plumb, level and square before anyone let him near a customer.
Since then it has run through nearly every seat an impact window and door business has. Between the founders, we’ve worked all of them. That’s why every product starts from the job, not from a template with a logo swapped in.
“Software for this trade should come from somebody who’s actually worked in it.”
How it came together
Before there was a company, one of our partners built WindowCalc alone: a complete quoting platform. When that work met the founders, the lesson it taught became the company.
How we build
Every app is tested before it ships. A check that has never failed on a bad result isn’t trusted until it has.
A passing test suite has never proven a document right. Every document and screen a milestone produces is opened and read by a person.
Numbered, dated decision logs for each product, so what we built and why is on the record.
What we don’t build
A few CRMs have spent years genuinely fitting this trade, and that isn’t a wheel worth reinventing. We build what they don’t: the EWD Suite for quoting, plans and field notes, plus AI maintenance for business owners who want their automations and workflows set up to run on their own.
What we tell people who ask
Leads: a layered strategy, not one channel. Real SEO, paid social, Google, and showing up correctly in the AI answer engines people ask instead of searching.
CRM and automation: A CRM built for a long construction sales cycle, paired with automations and workflows that run on their own. Automation handles the follow-up nobody has time for; a real person still closes the sale.
